Sawako Masuda "Susie" Pomponi, 91, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

She was born in Tobata, Kyushu Japan on January 4, 1931, to Shigeki & Yasuko Masuda.   She married Frank on April 16, 1954, and became a US Citizen on November 27, 1957.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 Years, MSG (Ret) Frank Roger Pomponi, who passed away on May 31, 2004.

She enjoyed making traditional Japanese floral arrangements, Japanese dolls. knitting, crocheting, beadwork, and cooking.

She was a Nursery Supervisor at the Bordeaux Spa.

Survived by her daughters, Tami, Joy, Virginia and husband, Albert Michael Karch, and grandson, Frank in Chicago.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 12 noon in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fort Bragg, NC.
