Obituary

RAEFORD - U.S. Army Sgt. Victor J. Sencion, 30, of Raeford, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville as a result of a hit-and-run motorcycle accident on Raeford Road. Victor had served in the U.S. Army for five years, during which time he served in Iraq and was a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville, with military honors immediately following. Victor is survived by his wife, Lili Ortega of the home; mother, Mirtha Guzman of the Dominican Republic; three brothers, Ivan Jimenez of New York, and Leonardo Jimenez and Isaac Jimenez, both of the Dominican Republic; two sisters, Vivian Lora of Miami and Luz M. Santillana of South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
