FAYETTEVILLE - U.S. Army Sgt. Aaron Joseph Blasjo, 25, of Fayetteville and formerly of Riverside, Calif., died Sunday, May 29, 2011, in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Friday, June 10, 2011, in JFK Memorial Chapel on Fort Bragg, officiated by Chaplain Brad Borders. The burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. The family received friends Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Blasjo; son, Talon Blasjo; mother, Roberta Blasjo; father, Daniel Blasjo; sisters, Jessica Blasjo and Kristy Fletcher-Santos; brother, Richard Fletcher; biological father, Richard Fletcher; paternal grandparents, Wesley Blasjo and Dorothy Severson; maternal grandparents, John Burdette and Pauline Curtis; and biological father's parents, Richard Eugene and Mary Burdette. In lieu of flowers, memorials may made at any branch of BB&T for a trust for Talon Blasjo. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
