Sharon Lee (Tynon) Downey, 75, died Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mrs. Downey was born on August 24, 1946, in Ogdensburg, NY, to the late Joseph Patrick Tynon and Laura May Thivierge. She was a longtime employee of Fayetteville Manufacturing.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 21, at 12:00 p.m. at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 20, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

She was preceded in death by two sisters:  Diane VanDusen and Phyllis Christman.

Mrs. Downey is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Earl Downey, Sr. of Linden; her daughter Tammy Jackson (William) of Linden; four sons, Richard Downey, Jr. of Ogdensburg, NY, John Downey of Hope Mills, Robert Downey (Kathy) of Hope Mills, and Randy Downey of Hope Mills; three sisters, Cheryl Finley of CA, Sandy Bouchey of Ogdensburg, NY, and Sally Finely-Engelbert of CA; four brothers, Joseph Tynon of CA, Terry Tynon of Jacksonville, NC, Phillip Tynon of Ogdensburg, NY, and Pete Finley of CA; 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
