Obituary

LINDEN — Mrs. Sheila Simpson Baggett, of 1568 Slocomb Road, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013. She was 53. Sheila was born Sept. 13, 1959, in Fort Knox, Ky., to the late Samuel W. Simpson and Elfriede W. Simpson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, Monday, May 20, 2013, at Walstone Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Phil Addison officiating. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Sheila graduated from Reid Ross High School in 1977. On Feb. 19, 1978, she married Brad Baggett. She loved her two sons, two grandsons and her family and friends. She loved to bass fish, endured playing golf, loved playing cornhole and loved traditional country and gospel music. Her favorite times were traveling with Merle Haggard on tour. She lived every minute for her sons and grandsons to be happy. She was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Brad Baggett of the home; son, Michael Alan Baggett and wife Tayri, and their sons/her grandsons, Hunter and Hayden, all of Fayetteville; and son, Johnathon Curtis Baggett, who attends UNC-Chapel Hill. Sheila has four brothers, Paul Simpson, Volkmar Simpson and wife Sue, Willie Simpson and wife Virginia, and Samuel W. Simpson, Jr. and wife Crystal; two sisters, Susie Simpson Holloway and husband Steve, and Gabriele Ianuario; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends from all over. Sheila was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She was ill for many years, but fought hard to be with her loved ones.The funeral will be held at 11 o'clock a.m. in Walstone Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Addison officiating. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
