Ms. Sheila Kay Johnson, of Lancaster California, formerly of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away March 25, 2015.

Sheila was born October 12, 1948 to the late George and Ida Johnson in Ashland, Kentucky.

She received her public education from Paul Blazer High School. Sheila received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from California State University. She was employed as a social worker by Los Angeles County, California.

Sheila devoted her life to Christ at an early age. She attended New Hope Baptist Church for many years. At the time of her passing, Sheila was an active member of Apostolic New Life Ministry in Lancaster, CA. As a member of Apostolic New Life Ministry, Sheila served as a Sunday school teacher and an usher, worked with senior citizens, and tutored children in math.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents ; her brother, Thomas Fitzpatrick; and her three sisters, Joan Reed, Jeanette Stone, and Georgia Reynolds.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Tristan Nunn (wife, Rena); sister, Michelle Thornhill; brothers, Tyron and Ernie Fitzpatrick and Paul, Robert and Gregory Johnson; and grandsons.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel with burial following in Lafayette Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
