Mrs. Shelby Jean Fields Rabon, 85, of Fayetteville, NC, died Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at the Cardinal Care of Hope Mills.

Shelby was born November 19, 1936, in Columbus County, NC, to the late Fred Fields and Mary Elizabeth Griffin Fields.  She retired from Guy Schools, Inc., Fayetteville and was a member of Stedman Baptist Church.  She enjoyed sewing.  Shelby was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Rabon Sr.

Shelby is survived by a daughter, Sue Nunnery; two sons, Perry Rabon Jr and James Rabon; a sister, Billy Britt; seven grandchildren, Shannon Rabon Thornburg, Anna Rogers Davis, Jennifer Rabon McInroy, Mary Dee Rabon, Cody Cockrell, Hunter Rabon, and Jeremy Rabon; and eight great-grandchildren, Haley Byrd, Jordan McInroy, Gracie McInroy, Jax McInroy, Micah Davis, Rylee Jo Micha, Kylie Davis, and Margot Rabon.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022, at the Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cardinal Care of Hope Mills, 4124 Pecan Dr., Hope Mills, NC 28348.
