Shirley Ivey Simmons, 84, of Hope Mills, NC passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021.  She was born on April 1, 1937 in Sampson County to Mahaley Jane Butler and George Bullard.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ormond Ivey.  She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Ira Bullard and GS Bullard, as well as her sisters, Geneva Smith, Doretha Vinson, Doris Hairr, and Christine VInson.

Shirley was a former member of Sapona Road Church of God.  Shirley loved spending time with her family as well as her beloved friends.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Lonnie B. Simmons of the home; her children, Renee' Norris and husband, Carroll, Mike Ivey, Gary Ivey and wife, Joy; stepson, Gene Simmons and wife Karen; her sister, Margaret Brock of Clinton, NC; grandchildren, Angie Ivey Byrd, April Ivey Moore, Michael Ormond Ivey, Hayden Norris, Garrett Ivey and Korey Simmons; great grandchildren, Alaney Byrd, Jacob Moore, Jaxon Moore and Austin Ivey. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 1pm to 2pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Shirley's celebration of life will be held at 2pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, Fayetteville, NC on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 with burial immediately following at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
