FAYETTEVILLE - Stacy Honeycutt, 86 of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2017 I at the NC State Veterans Nursing Home.

Stacy was born August 19, 1931 in Sampson County, NC to the late Janette and Stacy Honeycutt. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Geraldine Keen and husband Jim and Carolyn Sherron and husband J.K.

Stacy was a 1954 graduate of Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC. He was an Army veteran. He was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 50 years of service. Stacy was a faithful member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church where he enjoyed serving as an usher.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:30 pm in Snyder Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Herrmann, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Rose Hill, NC. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm.

Stacy is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Kathryn Cottle Honeycutt of the home; son, James Michael Honeycutt and wife Martha of Stanley, NC; two grandchildren, Sarah Kathryn Laroe and husband Jacob of Johnson City , Tennessee and James Michael Honeycutt, Jr. of the U.S. Naval Academy of Annapolis, Maryland .
