Susan Clark White, 96 of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in her home.

Susan was born on May 7, 1921 in Pender County, NC to the late Elizabeth Bell Hale and Charles Henry Clark, Sr. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years W.L. "Bill" White and her brothers, Merle Clark and C.H. Clark, Jr. and a sister, Valerie Fisher.

She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Vander where she was a member of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class # 2, sang in the choir, the Cub Scout Den Mother and served on many other church committees. Susan was the co-owner of Vander Food Mart.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. John Blackman, officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. White is survived by her son, William H. "Buddy" White and wife Elaine of Fayetteville; daughters, Nancy Smith of Fayetteville, Ann Hobgood and husband Linwood of Fayetteville and Susan Bowers of Fayetteville; sisters, Lee Eakes and husband Kendall of Virginia Beach, Va., Betty Hall of Rocky Point ; grandchildren, Bill Smith, Jason White, Adam Hobgood and Hunter Hobgood and a great-grandson, Tyler White.
