Talmadge R. Tingle, Sr.
Talmadge Ray Tingle, Sr., 70, of 2729 Colgate Drive, Fayetteville, died peacefully surrounded by his family, Sunday, Feb 4, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Tingle was an Army veteran, member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, a member of Orr Sunday School Class, a Mason and a member of the American Legion and Friendship Club. He was also former president of the Optimist Club in Tarboro. He was a retired employee of Sprint with more than 43 years of service and was a member of REACT, Retired Employees After Carolina Telephone and a member of Fayetteville Area Shag Association.
Mr. Tingle was an avid golfer with the Cape Fear Seniors and the Von Autry Group.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Snyder Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Olson officiating.
Mr. Tingle is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Norma H. Tingle of the home; Sons, Talmadge Ray Tingle, Jr., and his wife Shelly of Simsbury, Conn., and Thomas Richard Tingle of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers, Loren Tingle of Lewisville and Richard Tingle of Havelock; sisters, Ann Tetterton of Washington, and Emma Paul of Rochingham; granddaughters, Macy and MacKenzie Tingle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard T. Tingle; mother Pearl M. Tingle; brother, Winfield Tingle; and sister, Peggy Nordstom.
