Terry Arlene Swanner Brewer, 64, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Born on October 6, 1961, in Cumberland County, North Carolina, Terry was the daughter of Janet Ayscue Swanner and the late Joseph Swanner.

Terry proudly served her country in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Following her military service, she dedicated herself to serving her community. She worked as a cashier at Lambs Elementary School in the Charleston County School District, where her children attended school, and later worked at the Commissary at Charleston Air Force Base.

Terry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cross-stitching, putting together puzzles, and cheering on both the Clemson Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Most of all, she treasured the time she spent with her family, who were the center of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Swanner, and her son, Michael Dunning.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 40 years, Ed Brewer; her son, Patrick Brewer and wife, Emilie; her daughter, Marie McFall; her mother, Janet Swanner; her twin brother, Jerry Swanner; her brother, Joseph Swanner, Jr.; and her beloved grandchildren, Anna McFall, Gwenevere Brewer, Zoey McFall, and Lilian Brewer. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Due to inclement weather, the graveside service has been relocated to the chapel at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. The service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
