Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Lee Murphy Jr., affectionately known as “TJ”, who passed away in Venice, Florida, on July 1, 2026, at the age of 32.

Born in Kentucky on July 27, 1993, TJ lived life with a bold spirit, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a heart that left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a way of making people laugh, bringing light into any room, and creating memories that will never be forgotten.

TJ proudly served his country in the Untied States Army. During his active-duty service, he completed multiple overseas deployments and was wounded in action. After completing his active-duty service, he continued serving in the Army Reserve before concluding his military career. His courage, resilience, and dedication reflected the strength of his character.

Outside of his military service, TJ found peace in the outdoors. He loved fishing, hiking, bike riding, spending time at the beach, watching sunsets, and searching the shoreline for shark teeth, one of his favorite pastimes. He had a deep appreciation for music and never passed up an opportunity to sing karaoke or make those around him smile. Known for his generous heart, TJ was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. His dog, Trixie was one of the biggest loves of his life.

TJ is survived by his father, Terry Lee Murphy (Angela); his mother, Ginny Koenitzer (Mark); his sister, Brianna Murphy-Herreras (Fulton); his stepbrothers, Logan and Owen; his daughter, Stormie; and his beloved dog, Trixie, who was always by his side. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

TJ will be remembered for his loyalty, his laughter, his generosity, and genuine way he cared for those around him. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the impact he made will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
