Thelma L. Haire FAYETTEVILLE — Mrs. Thelma Louise Haire, 90, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, in her residence, surrounded by her family and caregivers. Mrs. Haire was born Aug. 21, 1921, to the late Archie and Margie Hatchell. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (known as Meme) and great-grandmother. She served as corporate secretary of Haire Plumbing and Mechanical Co. Inc.; she was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former president of the Shrinettes; she was a volunteer with both the Red Cross and Gray Ladies at the VA Medical Center; and was a member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel, with Dr. Tryon Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2 to 3 p.m., at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sandra Faye Haire; and her stepfather, Ralph Harper. Surviving are her husband, Hugh Robertson Haire Sr. of the home; sons, Larry Hugh Haire and wife Marian of Raeford, and Hugh "H.R." Haire Jr. and wife Kim of Fayetteville; daughters, Diane H. Harrill and husband Rodney of Sanford and Donna Louise Haire of Georgia; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Wesley Heights United Methodist Church, 304 Trinity Drive, Fayetteville NC 28301.
