Obituary

Thomas Wayne Bill, 58, of Bladenboro, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in his residence. He loved his two churches, St. Andrews United Methodist Church and Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Thomas Wayne Bill was born Jan. 7, 1956, in Fayetteville. He was the son of Nurman Maurice Bill and Mary Frances Sellers Bill. He graduated in 1972 from Pine Forest High School and immediately began working full-time in his father's and mother's company, Bill's Well Drilling Company Inc. Thomas had a general contractor's license, an electrical license, and a well drillers license in North Carolina and South Carolina. He enjoyed working in the family business and enjoyed the challenges that were involved in drilling wells and installing pumps. He was a troubleshooter from the start; and if anyone had a problem, they called Thomas Bill. In May of 1998, his father Nurman Maurice Bill passed away, at which time Thomas W. Bill became owner and president of Bill's Well Drilling Company Inc. Thomas Wayne Bill was dedicated and committed to his family business, ensuring that he treated all of his customers respectful and fairly. He desperately tried to help all of his customers who were without water in a timely manner. He worked long hours and on the weekends to make sure everything ran smoothly at Bill's Well Drilling Company Inc. He came in early to make sure all trucks were loaded with the supplies they needed prior to drilling a well. He would wake up in the middle of the night, to prepare for the upcoming day. He never stopped thinking about the business and how to make it better. He continued working up to the day he passed away. He will be solely missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Thomas Wayne Bill was a very generous man. He tried to help anyone who needed help. He loved his two churches and was committed to helping them whenever they needed something. He enjoyed and loved his family dearly. Thomas was a very kind and loving man who touched the lives of many people. How lucky we were to have been blessed with such a wonderful man to be a part of our life. One of Thomas' greatest joys was cooking catfish and inviting the family to come and join us for a family celebration. He cooked fish for his family and would have a fish fry for his wife's family. At one of the celebrations he had 93 people at his house to eat fish and enjoy the fellowship with family and friends. He loved to cook, loved gardening, traveling, antiquing, NASA car racing, building things, talking shop, working around the house and yard, working and especially his family. Thomas was a very talented man; he could do anything and could repair anything. He was always thinking of others and how he could help. He is survived by his wife, Deborah S. Bill of Bladenboro; his daughter, Stacia Dawn Bill of Fayetteville; his grandson, Jason Bill; his daughter-in- law, Crystal Bill of Fayetteville; and granddaughter, Payton Rose Bill. His sister, Jean Kamionka and her husband, Tom, of Fayetteville; his sister, Sue Powers and her husband, Hall, of Fayetteville; and his sister, Nancy Brock and her husband, LD, of Fayetteville.
