Obituary

Johnson Thomas Mann, 88, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, in his home. He was an Army and Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Mann worked at Fleishman's Big Store for 25 years and was a substitute teacher at Douglas Byrd Senior High School for many years. Mr. Mann was dedicated to his church, Wesley Heights Methodist Church, and proudly served as an usher for the church for the past few years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy McCall Mann. Funeral services will be be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Wesley Heights United Methodist Church, with Dr. Tryon Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mr. Mann is survived by two daughters, Alexis Mann Meares and husband Randal, and Ann Thomas; four granddaughters, Melody Meares Fowler and husband Weslee; Tiffany Meares Horne and husband William Jr., Tracee Whitaker and Crystal Ours; and five great-grandchildren, Alex and Trace Fowler, Delany Horne, and Shelbee and Jacee Whitaker. Memorials may be made to Wesley Heights United Methodist Church, 304 Trinity Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28301. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville
