Retired U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Thomas Davis Sr., 77, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. There will be no visitation. Mr. Davis is survived by his sons, Thomas Davis Jr. of Newnan, Ga., and Richard Davis of New Jersey; daughter, Debbie Hanlon of Newnan; sisters, Sandra Tilley and husband Raeford of Garner, Eva Mae Johnson and husband Gene of Fuquay-Varina, and Ellen Casner of Riverside, Calif.; and four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carroll Memorial Baptist Church, 2210 Henry St., Fayetteville, NC 28306; or to Inwood Baptist Church, 3700 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.
