Mrs. Thomasine Dugger Barrett
Mrs. Thomasine Dugger Barrett, 85, of Fayetteville, passed away June 01, 2012 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She was a graduate of Worth Business College and worked several jobs during her early married years, including the Department of Social Services and Burlington Industries. She was a loving wife of 65 years to her husband, Harold D. Barrett who predeceased her along with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Dugger.
Survivors include four children, Doug Barrett and wife, Josie; Tom Barrett and wife, Cathy; Carl Barrett and wife, Sally; Charlotte Johnson and husband, Bill; and, one brother, John Dugger and wife, Elizabeth. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six, great-grandchildren.
Thomasine was a life time member of Massey Hill Baptist Church and an active participant in church activities until she was unable in her later years. Both she and her husband, Harold, felt uplifted and appreciated the many visits by Doc Wyle during those days of declining health.
Nana, as we all knew her, will be missed by so many. She was a good mother, a sister, and friend to those who knew her. Nana was a dedicated Christian, throughout her life, who is now enjoying the "peace that passes all understanding."
Funeral service, Monday, June 4, 2012, 11:00 a.m. held at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, Dr. Ewart "Doc" Wyle, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Cemetery, 2301 Ramsey Street.Visitation, 10 to 11 a.m. Monday 6-4-2012 at the funeral home.
