Obituary

Mr. Thurman Teater, 89 of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 in Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Fayetteville surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Teater was an air traffic controller with the U.S. Army/Air Corp. He was an Army/Air Corp veteran of World War II. Thurman was a faithful member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. Floyd Benfield and Rev. Jeffrey Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Mr. Teater is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Eleanor B. Teater; daughters, Diane Thompson and husband Jessie of Linden, and Connie Ashley of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Eric Phillips and wife Ashley, Jason Thompson and wife Carol, and Brittan Phillips; and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Shelby, Christopher, and Cierra. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. Floyd Benfield and Rev. Jeffrey Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
