CUMMING, Ga. - Tom Bryant, 65, of Cumming, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2008.
Tom was a graduate of Garland High School in Garland, N.C., and earned his heating and air license and retired after 43 years in the industry.
Prior to his life in Georgia, he lived in Nashville, Tenn., where he helped start Village Baptist Church in Mount Juliet, Tenn. While in Pennsylvania, he helped to start Emanuel Baptist Church in West Chester, Pa. Tom was also a member of Grace Baptist Church in Wilson, N.C. He served as a deacon in several churches, taught youth Sunday school classes and was a member of Cumming Baptist Church for 10 years.
Tom was a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans and volunteered at Bell Center.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Victoria June Bryant; and brother, Henry Bryant.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bryant of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Dennis Daniels of Elm City, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Willa Mae and Joe Barrett of Saltillo, Miss.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Joyce Bryant of Benson, N.C., and Billy Ray and Sandra Peterson of Clinton, N.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, in Cumming Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roger Williams and the Rev. Mark Wood officiating.
There will be a visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, N.C.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville, with the Rev. Mark Harrison officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Dec. 14, 2008, at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cumming Baptist Church Building Fund, 115 Church St., Cumming, GA 30040; or to the American Cancer Society, 11 S. Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27603. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory of Cumming will be in charge of arrangements.
