Trent Tyrone Handley, 19, of Fayetteville, NC passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at UNC Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.

He was born October 23, 2001 in Providence, RI to Tanisha Ji-Kena (Gailliard) Handley and Olanrewaju Larry Handley. Trent was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Herman and Arva Gailliard; and his paternal grandfather, Julius Pickett Sr.

Trent was pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Entrepreneurship at Fayetteville State University at the time of his passing. He was a faithful and devoted member of New Beginnings Christian Church in Fayetteville. Trent had a passion for food and especially enjoyed baking. He loved music and was a talented musician who played cello and upright bass and was a self-taught pianist.

He is survived by his loving parents, Tanisha and Larry Handley; his sister, Taja Handley; his brothers, Tyuss Handley, Larry Handley, and Montrell Handley; his paternal grandmother, Velma Butterfield; his nephew Larry Handley Jr and a host of Aunts, Uncles and cousins left to cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Friday June 18 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday June 19 at 1PM at New Beginnings Christian Church, 6900 Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville with Pastor Ronnie Moore officiating.
