Ursel Gertrude Trimm, 83, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at her residence with her family by her side.

Ursel was born on November 13, 1939, in Berlin, Germany to the late Wilhelm Otto Schrader and Charlotta Rother Schrader.

As a young girl, Ursel lived through hard times, however she never lost hope. After moving to the United States, she took night classes where she earned her GED. She was formerly employed in the jewelry department at the Post Exchange at Ft. Bragg.

Ursel was known for having a green thumb and the love of gardening. She had her very own aviary, where she housed a variety of tropical birds that she adored.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph H. Trimm; sons, Richard Sheltman and Michael Sheltman; daughter, Carolyn Brady; brother, Klaus Schrader of Brugge, Belgium; 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
