Vernon Wayne Williford earned his wings on April 17, 2018 after a hard, but brief struggle with cancer.

Vernon was born on December 13, 1962 in Fayetteville NC to his parents, Bruce Wayne and Kay Williford. Nothing brought Vernon greater joy than his family and friends.

Vernon is survived by his mother, Kay Williford of Eastover, NC; his son and daughter-in-law, Vernon Wayne Williford II, Casey Williford and two grandchildren, Maddox and Tanner of Wade, NC; his sister, Sharon Hall of Eastover, NC; his baby sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Jerry Lloyd; four nephews, and two nieces, Justin and Megan Hall, Matthew and Ashley Hall and Chase and Tripp Lloyd; and one great nephew, Cooper Hall.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bruce Wayne; and his brother, Brandon.

Vernon will always be remembered for his compassionate, loving heart and unique personality. He was one of a kind and took life as it came no matter what the obstacles.

Visitation will take place at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm. A funeral will take place on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Bluff Presbyterian Church in Wade, NC, followed by the burial at Old Bluff Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vernon's life.
