Victor F. Talley, Jr died December 9, 2010 in his home in Eastover, NC,surrounded by his family. V F Talley was born in Fayetteville, NC on
January 15, 1920 and resided here his entire life.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 10, 2010 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10am at Salem United Methodist Church with burial following at Lafayette Memorial Park
on Ramsey Street. Mr Talley served in the US Army/Air Force during WWII and returned to
Fayetteville following the war, where he and George Walker opened V Point Super Market. He operated V Point on Murchison Road for more
than 50 years. He was past president of the North Carolina Food Dealers Association, a long time member of the Southern National Bank
Board of Directors, and was involved in numerous other successful busines ventures. Mr Talley was an active member and leader of numerous civic organizations including Salem United Methodist Church, the Sudan Temple Shrine Club, the Eastover Civic Club, the first Cape
Fear Valley Hospital Board, the Salvation Army Board and the \\"Dirty Dozen\\" a private local charitable group.V F Talley was universally beloved by his family, friends, business
associates and customers. Known to all for his gentle nature, kindness, boyish good humor and integrity, he was a constant source of
wise council and patient support to those around him. V. F. always exhibited the grace, humility, wit and wisdom toward which all men
strive. Although his presence here will be greatly missed, his influence lives on in all those who were fortunate to have known him.
V. F. Talley was preceded in death by his son Victor Talley and sister Sallie Ann Walker. He is survived by Eloise, his wife of 69 years,
his sister, Peggy McDaniel, daughters Martha Talley of Chevy Chase, MD, Susan Talley and Mary Talley, both of Eastover, daughter-in-law
Barbara Talley of Wilmington, grandchildren Rachel Spears, Tovia Joines, Tiffany Maloney, U.S. Marine Lt. Jackson Smith and Emily
Smith, as well as two great granddaughters, Ella and Kara Maloney.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the\\"Dirty Dozen\\" Salvation Army Christmas Fund. Services by
