Virginia Blackwell Phillips, 80, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, June 13, 2015 at her residence.

Virginia was the Matriarch and the Rock of her family, she was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Cape Fear Baptist Church, with burial following in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Sadie Blackwell; husband, George W. Phillips; sons, James Ray Sinclair and Rueben Sinclair; sister, Mary Ward.

Surviving are her daughters, Rachael Odom, Beverly Blalock and husband Phillip and Amy Esmenda and husband Ed; sisters, Christine Canady, Austine Phillips, Annie Louise Martin and husand Jimmy, Debbie Wearins, Betty Blackwell, Devon Smith, Bonnie Blackwell and Kathleen Chavis and husband Everton; brothers, Franklin Blackwell and wife Alice, Benson Blackwell, Ronnie Blackwell and wife Peggy, Michael Blackwell and Neal Blackwell; stepmother, Thelma Blackwell; grandchildren, Wendy Jacobs, Susan Chesser, Kristi Easterday, Ursula Sinclair Hill, Michelle Diaz and William Diaz; great grandchildren , Kimberly, Zackery, Emily, Adelaina, Destiny, Howie, Leila, Anastazia, Nathaniel and Alisa; great-great grandchildren Cameron, MaKayla, MaKenzie; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special niece Crystal Long.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
