Obituary

Vivian B. Bishop FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Vivian Burnette Bishop, 85, of Fayetteville, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, in Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center. She was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and the N.C. School of Banking at Chapel Hill; and a faithful member of First Baptist Church. She was also a member of Fidelis Sunday school class, the Women's Missionary Union, former member of Pilot Club of Fayetteville. the White Pine Garden Club, church visitor for First Baptist Church for 20 years, retired vice president with Commercial and Industrial Bank and North Carolina National Bank for 44 years. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mrs. Bishop is survived by her son, Chip Bishop and wife Beckie of Fayetteville; daughter, Brenda Bullock of Sunset Beach; and three granddaughters, Jenna Bishop of Fayetteville, Megan Bishop of Fayetteville, and Kristen Bullock of Sunset Beach. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Herman L. Bishop. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Anderson St., Fayetteville, NC 28301. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
