Retired U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Wade Thomas Saunders, 76, of 1913 Wayne Lane, Fayetteville, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, in UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. Mr. Saunders was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in Lafayette Memorial Park with the Rev. Jobe Lathan officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the U.S. Army Special Forces. Visitation will take place from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Monday at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mr. Saunders is survived by his wife, Arlene Saunders of the home; sons, Wade Thomas Saunders Jr. and Jamie Alan Saunders, both of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Troy Saunders, Julie Saunders and Wade Saunders III; and stepgranddaughter, Mistianne Cottle.
