W. Ray Whittaker, 72, of Fayetteville , died Thursday, September 8, 2016.

Ray was born in LA and worked 38 years at Fayetteville Regional Airport. He served 4 years Air Force duty. He was an active member of Village Baptist Church. Funeral services Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in Village Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Entombment will be Monday in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum. Ray is survived by his wife, Frances Whittaker, one daughter and family Julie, Matt and granddaughter, Mckenna Rowe, twin sister May Whittaker, sister, Kay Probert, and brother Tommy Whittaker all of Greensboro, NC. He has numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends that are like family that adore and will miss him greatly.
