Mr. Walter William Wilson, Sr., 81, of Eastover, NC, died Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Durham VA Medical Center.

Walter was born November 9, 1941, in Durham, NC, to the late Wesley Jasper Wilson and Nellie Mae Hampstead Wilson.  He was a US Army Veteran and a retired truck driver.

Walter is survived by his wife, Shirley Wilson; daughter, Lori Wilson Mellott (and husband Dennis); son, Walter W. Wilson Jr (and partner Karen Shaw); sister, Betty Ann McGee; six grandchildren, Adam Maness, Walter Leonard Maness Jr, Dennis Paul Mellott Jr, Beverly Wilson Hale, Brandon Wilson, and Amanda Wilson; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Cross Creek Cemetery, with military honors.
