HOPE MILLS Wanda McIntyre Brooks, 66 of Hope Mills passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 in UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. She was born June 26, 1950 in Harnett County to the late L.P. McIntyre and Ina Mae McIntyre of Dunn. Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband Pastor Marvin Brooks.

Mrs. Brooks was the owner of Brooks Pro Sound and Lighting and minister of music at Shaw Heights Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was singing for the Lord and telling people about Jesus her Lord and Savior. She was devoted to her family and friends. Wanda was beloved and will be dearly missed but always in our hearts.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Shaw Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow In Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

She is survived by her daughters, Holli Wilson of Dunn and Chrissy Herring and husband Jay of Coats; mother, Ina Mae McIntyre of Dunn; brother, Toby McIntyre and wife Diane of Dunn; sister, Terri Stephenson and husband Ricky of Coats; grandchildren, Brittani Brooks, Timothy McIntyre, Gabrielle Shaw, Christopher Elkins and wife Abigail, Saxton Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Brandon Herring; great-grandchildren, Noah Rayon, Sophia Rayon, Emma Elkins, Landon Brooks; nephews, Toby McIntyre and wife Shannon and Trey Stephenson and wife Ashley.
