Obituary

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Wayne Gary Nelson, 56, of 2109 Woodvine Ave., Fayetteville, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in his home. Mr. Nelson was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a U.S. Postal Service employee, a Boy Scout leader and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Christina Susanne Montgomery-Nelson of the home; two sons, Kyle Nelson of Fayetteville and Brian Nelson of Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter, Crystal Limbaugh and husband William Limbaugh II of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Young of Seattle and Sandra Andrews of Barling, Ark.; two granddaughters, Cayleigh and Sarah; and his mother-in-law, Lois Montgomery of Anderson, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Shank and Orvel Nelson. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Graveside services with military honors will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with Bishop Ross officiating.
