Wilford McDowell "Buddy" Harrelson., 89 of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2015 in Hope Mills Retirement Center. Buddy was born on November 14, 1926 in Cumberland County to the late Mary Smith and Oliver J. Harrelson.

Buddy was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a charter member of Hillside Baptist Church. Buddy was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Harrelson and sister Beatrice Burris.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Hillside Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Lloyd and Rev. Tommy Underwood, his son-in-law, officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Harrelson is survived by his son, Ronald Lynn Harrelson of Fayetteville; daughters, Patricia Harrelson Wallace of Eastover; Angela Harrelson Underwood of Raeford and Brenda Harrelson Mills of Scotland Neck; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
