SANFORD Mr. William Russell "Russ" Alexander, III., 58, of Sanford, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away Friday morning, April 29, 2016.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 7 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel. The familly will receive friends prior to the service from 5:30 to 7 pm at the funeral home.

Russ had a love for stray animals and also loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Russell Alexander, Jr.

Russ is survived by his son, David Russell Alexander of Pendleton, SC; his mother, Barbara B. Alexander of Fayetteville; three sisters, Debi McLeod of Fayetteville, Sharon Cunningham of Sanford, and Sandra Smith of Hope Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
