FAYETTEVILLE - William \\"Billy\\" Averitt Maxwell Jr., 47, of Fayetteville, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009. Billy was a loving father and husband. He was a real estate and land developer who was involved in many civic and charitable activities. Billy loved Kathy and they created a loving, nurturing and happy home together. He spent countless hours of volunteer work at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He also coached youth basketball teams both at church and school, where he mentored children athletically and spiritually. Billy is survived by his parents, William A. Maxwell Sr. and Faye S. Maxwell of Fayetteville, sister, Janet M. Prewitt and husband William (Tad) of Fayetteville, and sister Lynette M. McDonald of Fayetteville. He is likewise survived by his father-and mother-in-law, John D. and Henrianne C. Fox; brother-in-law, J. Bryan Fox and wife Stephanie, sister-in-law, Kerry F. Garlington and husband Brent; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Gilluly and husband Christopher, Edward Prewitt, Olivia McDonald, Haywood McDonald, Loni Fox, Thomas and Emma Claire Garlington, and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, with visitation to follow in the Gathering Hall. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of the Maxwell family to the Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Youth Fund, 701 Westmont Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28305, or Village Christian Academy Athletic Fund, 908 S.
