William "Bill" A. Edwards, Jr. 78 of Eastover, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Bill was born on February 24, 1942 in Cumberland County to the late William A. Edwards and Doris Autry Edwards. He was retired from Carolina Telephone & Telegraph after 42 years of service. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran and worked with the Eastover Fire Department for 35 years as a Volunteer Firefighter, Chaplain and Safety Officer.

A Memorial service will be held Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 2 pm at Praise Fellowship Church of God with burial to follow at Lebanon Baptist Church in Eastover with Military and Fire Department honors.

Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Carol Edwards; brothers, Donnie, Bobby and Bruce Edwards; and a sister, Janet Tedford.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Judy Beard Edwards; daughter, Gina E. Alexander and husband Don; son John Edwards and wife April; brother, Mike Baker; sister, Vicky Jean Rabano; grandchildren, Cory Gill, Connor Alexander, Ginny Alexander and Chace Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
