William C. Leffew, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, in his home. He was a veteran of Vietnam and retired as a master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Trude Conn, on Sept. 20, 2007. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Dec. 29, 2007, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at 2 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. He is survived by a daughter, Karen Brown and husband Jim of Carthage; a son, Phillip Leffew and wife Andrea of Fayetteville; and a son, Dirk Leffew of Metamora, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Dolores Conn of Dillon, S.C., and Sandra C. Brown and husband David of Fayetteville; stepson, James Conn Jr. of Hope Mills; five brothers, Gary, Danny, Steve, Jim and Joe; four sisters, Bobbie, Betty, Margie and Joyce; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
