Maynor, Sr.
March 9, 1948 – July 25, 2023
William Alfred Maynor, Sr., 75, of Fayetteville, NC went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at his home.
He was a graduate of Les Maxwell High School, from there he furthered his career at FTCC in Mechanical Engineering. After 33 years of working for the Monsanto Corporation he went on to start his own small engine repair shop for over 50 years.
Alfred was born March 9, 1948, in Fayetteville NC to the late Roger Dalton Maynor and Bessie Novella Maynor. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Mae (Jones) Maynor; his brothers, Ronnie and Ernest; and his sisters, Carolyn and Lillian. He is survived by his son Ronnie Hatem; son Gary Hatem and wife Mary; daughter Laura Walters; daughter Annette Hunt and husband Larry Hunt; son William Maynor Jr.; sisters Janie M. Herman and Wanda McLaurin; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; partner-in-love and best friend for 10 years, Justine Morrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 2pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. John Cuthill presiding. Burial will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery #4.
