Obituary

William Brent McQuage, 53 of Fayetteville Passed away suddenly Monday, February 3, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born June 5, 1960 in Laurinburg, NC to Earl Frank McQuage and Rosa Currie McQuage. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl McQuage. Left to cherish his memories are his mother Rosa McQuage Barber; ex-wife Toni McQuage of Paducah, Kentucky, three sisters, Catherine West and Clarkie Johnson of Fayetteville, Teresa Brewington of Rennert and Terri Parsons of Hope Mills, Two Brothers, David McQuage of Fayetteville and Anthony McQuage of Hope Mills and a host of nieces and nephews. Brent was a graduate of South View High School and attended Appalachian State University. He also served his community as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Stoney Point Fire Department prior to enlisting in the United States Navy. During his Navy career he served on the USS Nashville, USS South Carolina, USS Adroit, NAS Memphis, USS Peroia and USS Shenandoah. During his tour of duty he served our country in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield and was awarded numerous decorations and awards by the Department of Navy. After the military Brent worked as a licensed Journeyman HVAC mechanic, but most of all he was a wonderful son, brother and uncle with a heart of gold who will be greatly missed. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 3pm in Jernigan Warren Funeral Home Chapel.
