Mr. William Ray Parrish 75, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Parrish was a retired Science teacher who loved to collect rocks, arrowheads, and music.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 2 pm at St. James Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Locke officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at St. James in the fellowship hall. A graveside service will be held, Monday, January 12, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Vale, N.C.

Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sarah Wyant Parrish; daughters, Renee King and husband Scott of Grifton and Kelly Smith and husband, Thomas of Fayetteville; sisters, Sheree Martin and Wanda Sams of Greensboro; grandchildren, Sarah and Bryson King; step grandchildren, Dannilea , Jenna, Alex and Shelby Smith; one great grandson, Brayden King; as well as a host of in-laws in Lincoln and Catawba County.
