Mr. William "Bill" Ralph Cain, 87, of Fayetteville, NC, died Thursday, November 23, 2023.

William was born October 27, 1936, in Pensacola, FL, to the late Chester Byrd Cain and Doris Alene Stephens Cain.  He was a sales representative for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. He officiated numerous sports across Eastern NC and was a Santa helper for many years. William loved to fish and watch sports. He also enjoyed singing in the Gospel group at Hope Mills Retirement Center. He was also very fond of animals, especially his son Phillips' dog, Duchess, who was his buddy.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria G. Cain; son, Jonathan Mark Cain; sister, Donna Gail Cain; and two brothers, Tommy Cain and Herschel Cain.

William is survived by his children, William M. Cain (and wife Tina), Julia L. Packer (and husband Michael), and Phillip Cain (and wife Emily); ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel.  Entombment will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28304.
