William Ruiz, 69, of Fayetteville passed away at his residence on Monday, October 3, 2022.

William was born on October 17, 1952, in Aguada, Puerto Rico to the late Wenseslao and Isabelle Ruiz. He retired as a SFC after 22 years of service with the U.S. Army. He retired after 25 with the U.S. Postal Service where he spent most of his time as a mail carrier with the Cliffdale Post Office.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. He was very family oriented, loved to cook, and cherished his cats.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel with full military honors.

William is survived by his son, Mike Ruiz (Samantha); daughter, Jennieffer Ruiz-Farm (Jennifer); grandchildren, William "Will" Ruiz and Gabby Ruiz. He was the oldest of 13 children, 10 of whom are still living throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He is preceded in death by two infant sisters.
