William Harvey Scott, Sr., 76, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Harvey was born February 12, 1949, in Fayetteville, to Berry Randolph Scott and Eva Mae Brown Scott. He dedicated his life to his occupation. He worked at McDonald Grading Company for over 35 years and Highland Paving as Equipment Manager for 25 years. He enjoyed tuning race cars, cooking, working in his yard, and attending Saddlebred horse shows. He loved spectating at the many sporting events of his four grandchildren and was very proud of his sons. His wife, Linda, was the love of his life.
He was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church and attended Gardner's Methodist Church.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Gail Smith Scott; sons, Willam Harvey Scott, Jr. (Lindsey) and Jonathan Keith Scott (Leah); grandchildren, Luke Scott, Addyson Scott, Lane Scott, and Madelyn Scott; brothers, Berry Randolph Scott, Jr. (Martha), Larry Joseph Scott (Bette); sister, Charlotte S. Dew (Johnnie); the most precious fur baby, Bella; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 1 pm at Gardner's Methodist Church, 4555 Rosehill Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28311. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gardner's Methodist Church.
