William Wayne "Buddy" Stites, Jr., 67 of Fayetteville, NC passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his home.

William was born October 12, 1953 in Burns, Oregon to the late May and William Wayne Stites, Sr. He was preceded in death by his sister, Oralee Stites.

After 21 years of service with the US Army, he proudly retired as a First Sergeant.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ethel Thrush Stites; daughters, Jenny Brant and husband Curt, Wendy Scott and husband Billy, and Amanda Rader; sisters, Nancy Lenninger and husband Russell; Willow Kajia and husband Allen; grandchildren, Sam and SPC Jessica Rutledge, U.S. Army; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the Wounded Warriors Project.
