FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Willie Knott \\"Polly \\" Godwin, 89, of 7339 Ramsey St., died Monday, May 16, 2011, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Northview Baptist Church with the Rev. Brooks Grimes Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Godwin was preceded in death by her son, John Ronald Raynor. She is survived by her husband, Bobby B. Godwin; sons, Gerald Nelson Raynor and wife Betty, and Donald Bruce Raynor Sr. and wife Beverly; daughters, Linda Raynor Walker, Doris Raynor Grimes and husband Brooks Jr., and Margie Ann Raynor; stepdaughters, Bobbie Earlene Godwin and Betty Sue Godwin and husband Steve Wilkie; brothers, John Knott and James Knott; sister, Sara Leonard; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville today, Wednesday, May 18, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials, may be made to Northview Baptist Church, 7455 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28311.
