Willie J. Jones EASTOVER - Willie J. Jones, 74, of Eastover, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Jones was an avid NASCAR fan and a faithful member of Lebanon Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Sprint after 30 years and was a member of Retired Employees after Carolina Telephone. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m, today, Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Lebanon Baptist Church in Eastover, with Dr. John Campbell, the Rev. Ray Barnhill and the Rev. Tim Smithhart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the church. Mr. Jones was survived by his wife, Alice Faye Jones of the home; daughters, Gwen Strickland and husband Jim of Hope Mills and Alison Draughon and husband Jason of Stedman; and four grandchildren, Jimmy and Robert Strickland and Dylan and Anna Draughon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lellon Jones; brother, Rotate Jones; and sister, Barbara Faircloth.
