Retired Army SSG Willie Carl \\"Jr.\\" Painter, 76, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, in the VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at 2 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. The burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park with military honors. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Lena M. Painter, of the home; sons, Willie Earl Painter of Fayetteville, William H. Painter and wife, Johnnie, of Fayetteville, James W. Painter of Fayetteville; daughters, Linda P. Stewart of Fayetteville, Mary E. Beacham and husband, Eddie, of Fayetteville; sisters, Colleen Miller of Hope Mills, Mary McLaurin of Stedman, Hazel Taylor of Stedman; and grandsons, Jonathan Beacham and Shane Painter. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Wednesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
