Mr. Willis Herring, 70, of Autryville, died Thursday, May 31, 2007, in his home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 3, 2007, at 3 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel in Fayetteville with Rev. Robert Compton officiating. The burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg. Mr. Herring was born and raised in Parkersburg. He graduated from Massey Hill High School in Fayetteville. He was also the owner/operator of Herring Electronics. Mr. Herring is survived by his wife, Phyllis Herring, of the home; two sons, Stephen Herring and his wife, Jan, of Fayetteville and Willis Dwayne Herring and his wife, Deborah, of Roanoke Rapids; one daughter, Angela Johnson and her husband, Ray, of Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren, Stephen Herring II, Keith Herring, Cory McBride, Ryan Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Jami Herring, Kasey Herring, Sara Herring, Tessa Herring, Erin McBride, Jennifer Brown; one great-grandchild, Logan Herring; and one sister, Maggie Hales of Beaver Dam. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
