FAYETTEVILLE - Wilton Allen Smith, 78, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.

He is survived by his loving wife, Grace, of 53 years, his son Michael, daughter-in-law Teresa, and three grandchildren Grace, Kelsey, and Reid of Chapel Hill, NC, daughter Amy and son-in-law Johnny of Raleigh, NC.

Wilton graduated from Massey Hill High School in 1956, and was employed for 42 years by Carolina Telephone and Telegraph, which later became Sprint, retiring in 1999.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until funeral services begin at 2:30 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, or your favorite charity.
