Ann Havemann, 83, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 1, 1942, in Hoke County, Ann was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing alongside her beloved late husband, John Albert Havemann, and raising exotic birds at their shared passion project, Stoney Point Aviary. Together, they built not just a business but a life full of love and companionship.
Ann, affectionately known as "Memaw" to her granddaughters and great-grandchildren, was a generous and nurturing soul. She loved helping her family in any way she could—often picking up a paintbrush to lend a hand with home improvement projects. Her warmth and devotion extended to everyone she knew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Catherine Baxley; her beloved husband, John Albert Havemann; her brother, Bobby Baxley; and her granddaughter, Ashley Tew.
Ann leaves behind a loving legacy through her daughters, Kathy Bridgeman and husband Paul, and Mary Havemann Young; her brother, Elmer Baxley and wife Elaine; her sisters, Brenda K. Todd and husband Mike, and Janet Sue Hall and husband William; her granddaughter, Angela Smith and husband Donovan; and her great-grandchildren, McKinley and Blakley Smith. She is also lovingly remembered by her special nephew, Michael Todd, and many other extended family members and friends.
A graveside service to honor Ann’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
