Ann Jackson Tingler, of Fayetteville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 2, 2023. She was born August 31, 1950, to the late Sanford and Matha Jackson of Dunn. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Hollis Glen Tingler, Jr., and a sister, Faye Carolyn Jackson.
She was a 1968 graduate of Dunn High School and a 1972 graduate of Campbell College with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught several years at various schools in Cumberland County including Douglas Byrd Elementary. She also assisted her husband with the Adult Sunday School Class at Church of the Open Door for many years. Sharing the Gospel was a big part of her life, and she participated in the Navigators Evangelism Program.
One of her special joys was baking sweet treats, especially with her great-niece and nephew.
She is survived by her sister, Sandra Ashworth, and husband, Gary, of Dunn; nephew and niece, Travis Ashworth, Maranda Walsh and husband, Joshua, all of Dunn; great-niece and nephew, Amara and Connor Walsh.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, June 7, at 10 a.m. at Church of the Open Door in Fayetteville with Rev. Jon Wixtrom officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park-West.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, and other times at the home of Maranda Walsh.
